InfiniPhone Lite Privacy Policy
InfiniPhone Lite is an iPhone app that lets staff of an organisation make and receive calls on their work phone extension. InfiniComm provides it, together with the business phone system it connects to. This policy explains what information the app handles, why, and where it goes.
- The app only works with a phone system your organisation runs with InfiniComm. You need a setup code from them.
- It has no advertising, no analytics or tracking tools, and does not sell or share your information for marketing.
- It does not read your iPhone contacts, photos library, location or anything outside the app.
- Your calls and call records are handled by your organisation's phone system in Australia, the same as calls from a desk phone.
Who is responsible
Your organisation decides how its phone system is used, for example whether calls are recorded. InfiniComm runs the phone system and the app for them. Questions about your organisation's call records or recording policy are best directed to your organisation. You can also contact us (details below).
What the app handles, and why
Setting up the app
When you enter a setup code, the app creates a security key pair on your iPhone. It sends the public half, your iPhone's model name and your internet address to your organisation's phone system so it can register your phone. The private key never leaves your iPhone. The phone system replies with your extension's login details, which are stored on your iPhone.
Calls
Calls travel over an encrypted connection (WireGuard) between the app and your organisation's phone system. Like any business phone system, it keeps a record of each call. That record includes the numbers and names involved, the time, the duration, and who answered.
Your organisation may choose to record calls and transcribe them. That is a setting of the phone system, not of the app, and it applies to desk phones too. If your organisation allows it, the app can show you recordings, transcripts and summaries of calls you're entitled to see.
Incoming call notifications
To ring your iPhone when the app is closed, the app gives the phone system a push notification token. When a call arrives, the phone system sends a notification through Apple's Push Notification service. It contains the caller's name and number so your iPhone can show who is calling.
Microphone, camera and photos
- Microphone: used only during a call.
- Camera: used only to scan a setup QR code. Nothing from the camera is stored or sent.
- Photos: if you choose a picture of a setup code, the app reads the code from that one picture on your iPhone. The picture is not uploaded.
- Local network: used only to reach your phone system.
Directory and call history
The app downloads your organisation's phone directory and your call history from the phone system and keeps a copy on your iPhone to display. Contacts you save as private are visible only to you.
Logs and feedback you send
If you send a report or feedback from the app, it sends:
- your message;
- optionally, the app's technical log, which can include numbers you dialled and connection details;
- the app version, your iPhone model and your iOS version.
It goes to your organisation's phone system and is emailed to InfiniComm support, only so we can fix problems and improve the app. Nothing is sent unless you tap Send.
Where your information is kept
- Call records, recordings, transcripts, directory and reports are stored on your organisation's own phone server in Brisbane, Australia.
- Transcription runs on InfiniComm's own service in Australia.
- If your organisation turns on AI call summaries, transcript text is sent to an AI provider (OpenAI) to write the summary. This may involve processing outside Australia.
- Push notifications pass through Apple. If you test the app through TestFlight, Apple also shares any crash reports and feedback you choose to send, under Apple's TestFlight terms.
How long it is kept
Your organisation sets how long call records and recordings are kept. Recordings are currently kept for 90 days. Reports you send are kept until the issue is resolved and then deleted on request. Deleting the app removes everything it stored on your iPhone. Ask your organisation or us to remove your iPhone's access to the phone system.
Your rights
We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. You can ask us, or your organisation, for access to the personal information held about you and ask for it to be corrected. If you have a concern, contact us first. If you're not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with a new effective date.
